ANALISIS KORELASI GENETIK BOBOT LAHIR DAN BOBOT SAPIH PERSILANGAN DOMBA DORPER DAN CROSS TEXEL DI PT. DORPER AGROTAMA INVESTA

This study aimed to determine the estimated genetic correlation between birth weight and weaning weight of crossbred Dorper and cross-Texel sheep. The study was conducted from March to July 2025 at the PT. Dorper Agrotama Investa farm. Data from 106 young lambs were collected using a survey method using the company's secondary records. The observed variables were birth weight, weaning weight, and calf sex. The results showed that the average birth weight of male lambs was 2.92 ± 0.7 kg, weaning weight of male lambs was 18.70 ± 4.5 kg, birth weight of female lambs was 2.85 ± 0.7 kg, and weaning weight of female lambs was 17.18 ± 4.8 kg. It can be concluded that the estimated genetic correlation between birth weight and weaning weight of crossbred Dorper and cross-Texel lambs is highly positive with a score of 0.766 ± 1.199. It is recommended that further research analyze the performance of Dorper and Texel crossbreds based on F1, F2, and subsequent genetics with different birth types and different parities so that selection can be used to achieve genetic progress.
