Abstract

This research was motivated by the low speaking proficiency among eleventh-grade students at SMAN 1 Srengat. Students struggled with pronunciation and fluency, and lacked confidence due to limited vocabulary and practice. To overcome these challenges, the researcher used Speechace, a digital tool that provides real-time feedback for pronunciation and fluency training. The researcher applied a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design using one one-group pre-test-post-test design. The participants were 32 students from class XI-C1 selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using speaking tests conducted before and after treatment, and analyzed using paired sample t-test. The treatments were conducted in four sessions using Speechace as the main medium to train students' pronunciation and fluency in speaking English. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ speaking performance. The average pre-test score was 64.32 and the post-test score increased to 79.36. The paired sample t-test revealed that the significance value was lower than 0.05, indicating a significant difference. These findings suggest that the use of Speechace was effective for eleventh-grade students’ speaking skills, especially in fluency and pronunciation. It is concluded that Speechace is an effective learning tool for eleventh-grade students' speaking skills. English teachers are encouraged to incorporate technology-based platforms like Speechace into their instruction. Students are also advised to utilize such tools to practice independently. Future researchers may explore Speechace in different contexts or compare it with other digital learning tools to gain broader insights.
