Community Perception Of Layer Chicken Farms In Plumpungrejo Village, Kademangan District, Blitar Regency

This study aims to determine public perceptions of the existence of laying hen farms in Plumpungrejo Village, Kademangan District, Blitar Regency. Laying hen farms are one of the leading livestock sectors that contribute to the supply of eggs for consumption. However, their existence often causes environmental and social impacts that can affect the comfort of local residents. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method with a survey approach, involving 98 respondents who were selected purposively from residents living around the farms in Plumpungrejo Village. The study shows that public perceptions are divided into two main categories, namely positive perceptions related to economic benefits, and negative perceptions related to environmental impacts such as odor and waste. These findings indicate that although laying hen farms in Plumpungrejo Village, Kademangan District, Blitar Regency provide significant economic benefits, environmental impact management needs to be improved in order to establish a harmonious relationship between farmers and the community.
