Abstract
This study aimed to determine the effect of hen age on the hatching weight of
Day Old Chicks (DOC) Kampung Unggul Balitbangtan (KUB) Chicken. The
research was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three
age treatments of breeder hens: P1 (28 weeks), P2 (32 weeks), and P3 (48 weeks),
each with 6 replications and 10 eggs per replication. Observed parameters included
DOC hatching weight. The results showed that hen age had a significant effect
(P<0.05) on DOC weight. The highest average DOC weight was found in P3
(33.87%) and the lowest in P1 (27.28%). The study concluded that hen age affects
DOC weight, with 48-week-old hens yielding the best results.
