PENGARUH UMUR AYAM TERHADAP DAYA TETAS TELUR AYAM KAMPUNG UNGGUL BALIBANGTAN (KUB)

This study aims to determine the effect of the age of the laying hen on the hatching
power of Kampung Unggul Balibangtan (KUB) eggs. This study used a Completely
Randomized Design (CRD) analysis method with a one-way pattern consisting of three
treatments of the age of the laying hen, namely P1 (28 weeks), P2 (32 weeks), and P3 (48
weeks), each with 6 replications and 10 eggs per replication. The parameters observed included
hatching loss and hatchability. The results of the analysis showed that the age of the mother
hen had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the hatchability of Balitbangtan's superior village
chicken (KUB) eggs. The hatchability in P1 was 75%, in P2 it was 80%, and in P3 it was
73.3%. Meanwhile, the different ages of \ hens had a significant effect (P<0.05) on hatching
losses. The highest average hatching loss occurred in P2 18.33% and the lowest in P3 15.55%.
This study result that the age of the parent hen did not significant effect (P>0.05) on hatching
power but was significantly different (P<0.05) on hatching losses.
