Abstract

Vocabulary acquisition is a fundamental component of language learning, yet traditional methods such as memorization often fail to engage students effectively. This study explores the integration of Wordwall, a digital learning platform, as a pedagogical tool to enhance vocabulary instruction for tenth-grade students at SMAN 1 Srengat.
A qualitative case study approach was employed, focusing on one English teacher and two students. Data were collected through interviews, classroom observations, and documentation to examine how Wordwall was planned, implemented, and evaluated within the teaching process. The study revealed that Wordwall offered interactive activities such as quizzes and word-matching games that significantly increased student motivation and participation.
The findings show that the platform allowed teachers to tailor learning activities based on students’ needs, provided automatic scoring for progress tracking, and supported both classroom and independent learning. Despite challenges such as varying levels of student motivation and internet access, Wordwall proved effective in supporting vocabulary mastery through engaging and flexible learning strategies.
In conclusion, Wordwall is a valuable digital tool that enhances the vocabulary learning experience by fostering interactivity and learner autonomy. Its use is recommended for broader application in English language teaching, and further research is suggested to explore its impact across different educational contexts.
