Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding turmeric on FI (Feed Intake), HDP (Hen Day Production), FCR (Feed Conversion Ratio) in Isa Brown strain laying hens. One of the factors for the success of laying hen productivity is feed. Feed that is in accordance with livestock needs both in terms of quality and quantity greatly determines the productivity of eggs produced. Improving metabolism through the addition of additives will indirectly increase livestock production performance through the bioactive substances it contains. This study was conducted for 6 weeks. This study took place at a laying hen farm owned by Mr. Sujianto, Ngrobyong Hamlet, Jiwut Village, Nglegok District, Blitar Regency, East Java. The material used in this study was 120 Isa Brown Strain laying hens aged 24-30 weeks. This study used the Open House cage system. Using dry turmeric in powder form which is mixed into laying hen feed. This research method uses an experimental method by utilizing a completely randomized design with a unidirectional pattern. The results of statistical analysis showed that the addition of turmeric to the feed of Isa Brown Strain laying hens did not have a significant effect (P> 0.05) on the Feed Intake of Isa Brown Strain laying hens. The addition of turmeric to the feed of Isa Brown Strain laying hens did not have a significant effect (P> 0.05) on the Hen Day Production of Isa Brown Strain laying hens. The addition of turmeric to the feed of Isa Brown Strain laying hens did not have a significant effect (P> 0.05) on the Feed Conversion Ratio of Isa Brown Strain laying hens. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the addition of turmeric to the feed of 24-30 week-old laying hens did not increase production performance, either Feed Intake, Hen Day Production (HDP), or Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) in Isa Brown Strain laying hens.
