Abstract

Organic fertilizers, derived from decomposed plant and animal residues, enhance soil physically, chemically, and biologically. They outperform inorganic fertilizers by improving soil structure, water retention, and biological conditions. Goat manure is a valuable organic fertilizer, promoting soil structure and microbial activity, particularly in less fertile inceptisol soils. This study investigates the effect of goat manure waste on sweet corn growth (Zea mays saccharata Sturt) over one month, from March to April 2024, using an experimental approach. The experiment used polybags, with tools like a hoe, bucket, knife, ruler, and scale, along with sweet corn seeds, soil, and goat manure waste. Three manure doses (0 g, 12.5 g, and 25 g) were applied, each treatment repeated five times, for a total of 15 treatments. Data on plant height and weight were collected and analyzed using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The results revealed significant differences (P<0.05) based on the level of manure. The treatment without manure (D0) produced the tallest plants eith 89,40 ± 3,50c result, while the 25 g manure treatment (D2) resulted in the highest plant weight with 126 ± 4,24c result.
