Abstract

The material in this study used grower phase laying hens aged 7-10 weeks, with the Isa Brown strain. The chickens studied were 324 chickens in the front area and 324 chickens in the back area, in each area, there were 18 batteries, and the treatment in each battery contained 18 chickens, which then used the Slovin formula to determine the number of chicken samples, and the number of samples used was determined as many as 72 chickens in each area with a total sample of 144 chickens. The method used in this study is Selective Sampling, and data collection uses surveys and observations. The variables observed were body weight gain and uniformity.
The results showed that the difference in the airan in the closed house cage did not affect body weight gain (P>0.05), but the difference in area in the closed house cage affected uniformity (P<0.05). The increase in body weight showed a value of 102.98 grams in the front area and 93.08 grams in the back area. For uniformity, it shows a value of 96.53% in the front area and 88.89 in the back area, although the difference in area affects uniformity, it has met the set uniformity standard of 85%. In this study, further research needs to be carried out by including FCR calculations to further test the effect on body weight gain and uniformity.
