Abstract

The research was aimed to establish The Model of Missyou Lyric Game application to Increase Listening Ability
in Eight Grade Junior High School Students’ pattern adapt from Sugiyono (2016). The subject of this research
were 20 students of a random school from SMPN 1 Srengat, SMPN 1 Ponggok, and SMPN 1 Udanawu, also five
teachers for a random school in Blitar Regency. This study used a quantitative approach using a questionnaire
and qualitative by using interviews, observations, and documentation. The process of developing the "Missyou
Lyric Game" media as a learning media goes through various stages, namely: (1) Phase I: Analyzing Potential
and Problem, (2) Phase II: Product Design and Development, Product Validation, Product Revision, (3) Phase
III: Product Testing and Perception Test, Evaluation Product, and Final Product. The result of the research
showed that The Model of Missyou Lyric Game to Increase Listening Ability in Eight Grade Junior High School
Students’ especially listening song lyrics to improve students' listening skills ability completed with 2 guide
books that are guide book for teacher, and guide book for students. Application was proper, it proved by the
result of the content English material validation (81,7%) and media validation (83,7%) Students’ and
teachers' gave positive responses toward Missyou Lyric Game application as a learning media reflected from
the resulting questionnaire given 81,65% from students and 86,6% from teachers.The Model of Missyou Lyric
Game to Increase Listening Ability in Eight Grade Junior High School Students’ was very proper and appropriate
to be applied as an alternative media for teaching and learning listening of song lyrics to improve students'
listening skills ability.
